Kodachrome Basin State Park Campground is located in a Southern Utah valley, surrounded by a huge multi-colored sandstone chimney spires and rock formations. Kodachrome Basin is located at 5,800 and is fully surrounded by Grand Staircase-Excalante National Monument and is on the small-side, compared to other state parks, at only 2,240 acres.

The small, developed campground has only 31 campsites and each includes a picnic table, fire ring, and access to bathrooms, showers, and drinking water. Ten campsites are available with full hookups.

Spring & Fall –  Besides winter, spring and fall are the least busy times to visit Kodachrome Basin, and the weather is comfortable at these times.

Winter – The snow covered spires and red cliffs at Kodachrome Basin are a sight to see in the winter.

Hiking, Biking, and Horseback Riding – There are miles of trails directly accessible from the campground

Grosvenor Arch – An intricate double arch, located just 10 miles southeast of the park, is one of the most impressive in the state.

Fun Facts

Kodachrome Basin State Park was named after the Kodak film by the same name. It was given it’s name by the National Geographic Society with permission from the Eastman Kodak Company, which owns the rights to the name Kodachrome.
