Catfish Point Campground is a semi-primitive, dispersed campground on the Verde River, just below Horseshoe Dam in Tonto National Forest. The campground provides access to fishing and boating in the Verde River as well as Horseshoe Lake, depending on water levels. Catfish Point Campground also offers scenic vistas from the surrounding Sonoran Desert Mountains. The campsites at Catfish Point are partially shaded by the mesquite trees that grow along the Verde River.

The only facilities you will find at Catfish Point Campground are a couple of vault toilets. There is a primitive boat ramp available half a mile to the north for accessing Horseshoe Lake. The Marina at Bartlett Lake offers the closest camping supplies. There are no designated campsites at Catfish Point Campground; you can pitch your tent pretty much anywhere you can find space, but the available space varies with the water level of the Verde River. Access to the campground is via a rough dirt road.

Catfish Point Campground is closed and inaccessible due to flooding when large amounts of water are released from Horseshoe Dam.
