Dunes Vista Campground is a primitive dispersed camping area just north of Interstate 8 on the eastern end of California’s Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area. Dunes Vista is one of a few unmaintained campgrounds on the north side of Interstate 8. The others are Ogilby and Gordon Wells. There are also a hand full of maintained campgrounds just south of the highway that offer toilets and trash services. Those campgrounds are Grays Well, Midway, and Buttercup. There is no paved access to Dunes Vista Campground the camping area is packed gravel for parking RVs and other vehicles.
The closest stores for camping supplies are in Yuma, AZ or to the north in Glamis, CA.

When To Go
Winter – The dunes are most popular in the winter, especially around the long holiday weekends.
Do not camp here in the summer. Temperatures usually exceed 100 degrees daily.
What To Do
OHV Riding – The dunes are very popular for off-roading and OHV driving.
