Ice House Campground is a large campground on a the shores of the lake of the same name, that is popular for bass fishing and hiking. A nearly 3-mile long hiking trail connects the campgrounds on Ice House Lake. Ice House Lake Campground is maintained as part of the larger Crystal Basin Recreation Area, which is a partnership between the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) and the US Forest Service.
There are 83 campsites at Ice House Campground. All of the campsites include a picnic table, fire ring, access to drinking water, and a vault toilet. A dump station and boat ramp are available at Ice House Campground. A free California Campfire Permit is required for campfires. Permits can be picked up at an Eldorado National Forest office.
