Northshore Campground is a small, rustic waterfront RV and tent campground on Loon Lake in Eldorado National Forest. The campground itself has few amenities, with other amenities such as camp supplies and a boat ramp located nearby at Loon Lake Campground at the south end of the lake. Like the other campgrounds on Loon Lake, Northshore Campground’s landscape is dominated by granite rock dotted with tall pines.

Northshore Campground is maintained as part of the larger Crystal Basin Recreation Area, which is a partnership between the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) and the US Forest Service.

There are 15 campsites at Northshore Campground. All of the campsites include a picnic table and fire ring, and access to a vault toilet. There is no drinking water available at Northshore Campground. Reservations are not accepted for Pleasant Campground; all campsites are first-come/first-served. A free California Campfire Permit is required for campfires. Permits can be picked up at an Eldorado National Forest office.
