Stillwater Cove Regional Park – Bottom Line
Stillwater Cove Regional Park Campground is really popular for scuba and abalone divers, but like most Sonoma County Parks is not a destination that we would set out for. The campground is on the east side of California Highway 1 and does not have great views of the ocean, in fact it would be very easy to forget you were even near the ocean from the campground’s vantage point. The rangers tend to be a little over agressive with fee collection and prohibiting congregation of groups at campsites after dark. While there are bathrooms and showers available, they are one-seaters, so when the campground gets busy there can be lines to use the facilities. Finally, there is very little privacy for the campsites, so be prepared to get to know your neighbors.
