Union Creek Campground is a popular campground near the confluence of Union Creek and the Upper Rogue River in the Rouge River – Siskiyou National Forest. Union Creek runs through the campground, with some campsites directly on the banks of the scenic creek. Most of Union Creek Campground is located under a canopy of old growth trees, but there are a handful of campsites that are in a more open grassy area.
Hiking is available nearby on the Upper Rogue River Trail and the Rogue Gorge Trail. These trails can be combined into a loop leading to the amazing Rogue Gorge, which is about a mile away from Union Creek Campground.
There are 73 campsites at Union Creek Campground. Each campsite comes with a picnic table, fire ring, and access to drinking water and bathrooms. Union Creek resort is located half a mile away and offers camping supplies and a restaurant. Reservations are not accepted, all campsites at Union Creek are first-come/first-served.
Campfire restrictions may be in effect in the summertime at Union Creek Campground. Check with the High Cascades Ranger District for up to date restriction information.
Union Creek Campground Campground Bottom Line
There are some pretty awesome campsites at Union Creek Campground. In fact, Union Creek Campground is pretty much the only campground that we have seen and can say that most of the campsites are pretty great. Many of the campsites are down along the creek, and most of the campsites are large with great separation between sites.
The Rogue Gorge and Natural Bridge are must visit if you camp at Union Creek Campground. Also, you are within quick driving distance of Crater Lake National Park, which makes for a great day trip.
The bottom line on Union Creek Campground is go in mid-May or early June. The campground is never really busy, but the bugs in this area can get pretty bad in the evenings. go in Winter or Fall as the weather will still be nice, and their will be less crowds. Also in Fall the leaves in the area will be turning colors, which is amazing looking.

June – July – Union Campground is pretty empty in early June. After July the bugs start getting pretty thick in this area.
