West Point Campground is the second smallest campground on the shores of Union Valley Reservoir in California’s Eastern Sierras. West Point Campground is a free, walk-in/boat-in campground located on the eastern shores of Union Valley Reservoir in California’s Eldorado National Forest. West Point Campground is maintained as part of the larger Crystal Basin Recreation Area, which is a partnership between the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) and the US Forest Service.

Each of the campsites at West Point Campground are shaded by tall pine trees and include a picnic table, fire ring, and access to a vault toilet. Reservations are not accepted for West Point Campground; all campsites are first-come/first-served. There is a boat ramp accessible from the campground. Campfire restrictions may be in effect during fire seasons.

West Point Campground is located on northwest shore of Union Valley Reservoir, 15 miles from Highway 50. From Highway 50 turn north on Ice House Road (Primary Forest Road 3.) Go 7 miles, turn left on Peavine Ridge Road, go 3 miles west , make a right turn on Bryant Springs Road. Go 5 miles north to just past West Point Boat Ramp on the right.
