Westside Regional Park campground is located on Bodega Bay in Sonoma County, and offers harbor-side camping that is ideal for RVs, but can be used for tent camping as well. Westside’s campground is located across Bodega harbor from Doran County Park, and near the Pacific Ocean. Located near California Highway 1 (CA-1), the organized campground is easy to get to from the San Francisco Bay Area. Westside Regional Park Campground offers a number of amenities including a boat launch, picnic tables, fire rings, bathrooms, and showers.
Westside Regional Park – Bottom Line
Westside Regional Park Campground is great for RV camping, but is not ideal for tent camping. All of the campsites have pull-through parking which good for RVs and boats, but leaves tent campers sandwiched between RVs. Another negative for tent campers is the lack of shade at Westside Campground, however since there are few trees you get some nice views of Bodega Harbor and the ocean in the distance. If we absolutely wanted to camp at Bodega Harbor and had a boat to launch, we probably would go over to nearby Doran County Park instead since it has beach access and a little more privacy.
The best campsites in the campground are those that are closest to the harbor; campsites 35-47.
